Album Review: The Cadillac Three – Bury Me In My Boots

the-cadillac-threeIf you’re looking got some deep, thumping Country rock to sate your needs then you need look no further than The Cadillac Three. This US based trio have been around for a few years now but having recently released their latest album Bury me in my Boots they have launched themselves further into the spotlight with the album hitting number 5 in the Country music charts in the US.

Bury me in my Boots opens with its self-titled track and is an immediate look at what you can look forward to from the rest of the album. A rich, whisky and cigarette tinged voice crackles for a moment before an absolute hurricane of sound bursts to life. They are a tidal wave of sound, everything that you could hope for from a Country Rock band. This Southern US group remains true to their roots with an album littered with songs about whisky, women and cars and they do it with tremendous Southern style. Banjos cut over slide guitars, harsh drumbeats oversee their every move and it all combines behind their smoky, harmonious vocals.

The Cadillac Three might be everything you could come to hope for from a Country Rock trio but they’re also not your standard fare; they aren’t afraid to push the limits of their music, giving them a more contemporary sound than many of their counterparts. They are Country, they are Rock and they are something else entirely. They are a booming, resonant and totally addictive rollercoaster of sound that have as much raw and unkempt power as any natural phenomenon. They bring you the kind of music that won’t just have your toes tapping but your feet stomping and your head banging.

There’s something in The Cadillac Three for everyone; stunning guitar medleys, rocking drums, deep bass and JD smoked vocals. They’re a force to be reckoned with, a sound you can’t get enough of. They are the sound of the modern day South.

The Cadillac Three return to the UK for a headline tour later this year. Tickets are available now through Live Nation.

Their raw and gritty sound has won them founds on both sides of the Atlantic with its rocking vivacity and universal appeal. Chicago Sun-Times explains it thus, “…the majority of today’s so called country rockers are simply trying to emulate what The Cadillac Three has been from their very beginning.”
