Jonny Kearney & Lucy Farrell
The BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2012 Nominees have been announced and a few changes have taken place. The Folk Awards are moving out of London for the first time and will take place at The Lowry, Salford on Wednesday 8th February 2012. Also, for the first time. The public will be able to buy tickets for the event. (Ticket links and numbers can be found below)

The Folk Awards have become a much anticipated annual event in the folk world and with previous years featuring artists such as James Taylor, Bellowhead, Laura Marling and Donovan who received a Lifetime
Achievement Award at 2011′s event. The 2012′s event look set to show how far folk music has come over the last few years with artist such as Emily Smith, Jonny Kearney & Lucy Farrell and Ioscaid all been
nominated.

From an Artree perspective, we are delighted that Jonny and Lucy have been nominated for best duo. We had this fine young folk act at Folking Live earlier this year, so not only does it endorse what an excellent act they have become, but for us it’s a great feeling to know we are attracting artists excelling in their field.
