Introducing: Lostboy

Lostboy are relative newcomers to the folk scene at the moment but they are already making a name for themselves and July 19th will see the release of their debut EP complete with a grandiose launch that will be held at The Monarch in Camden in the evening.

The duo, originally hailing from the North but settled these days in Greenwich have known each other as friends for well over a decade and have only in recent times decided to take the plunge and form themselves a band. The result is Lostboy, a beautiful band who bring their honest and heartfelt opinions to life with a tender simplicity that cannot help but warm you to the core. What is refreshing in their work is their earnest and almost minimalist style that leaves them sounding bare and exposed to the world. A gentle guitar tune might drift around them for a spell but it is their unique harmonies that are the mesmerising act in this show. Their soft Northern lilts lend their vocals an inimitable charm and friendliness that helps their unique brand of music that trips yow down memory lane. Songs such as their namesake Lostboy can’t help but spread a smile across your face as it reminds you of those memories you’ve got tucked away at the back of your mind, the days of youth that are long gone by.

With their sincere and powerful voices the duo are an overwhelming success and combined with their softly plucked guitar strings they become as warming as a hot bowl of soup on a winters day. Their EP launch is doubtless going to be a fantastic chance for them to show off what they have done so far and what it is they still have left to do.
