Album Review: Caddy Cooper – Acoustic EP

One listen to Caddy Cooper’s debut CD and it’ll be evident that even if she’d not been drawn to our sunny shores, her voice alone would have carried her here.

Caddy combines her clean, crisp vocals with gentle chords and eager beats; never allowing her music to become oversaturated, attention is on her and her larger than life voice at all times.  The combination results in a calming, touching and often humorous E.P, with a soothing, dreamlike quality to it that’s beautiful in its own simplicity.

The E.P is pleasingly varied considering its five track limitations.  From soulful, gospel style sounds, to touching acoustic tales and toe-tapping sing-along’s she really showcases her vocal capabilities in each and every track making it close to impossible to pick a favourite.

There is only one problem with Caddy’s offering and that is simply that five tracks isn’t nearly enough.  However, with this amount of pure, raw talent we can safely look forward to her impending full-length album when it arrives, until then we’ll just have to make good use of that repeat button.
